MEET OUR PASTOR!

Pastor Darrell Nunley has led KTOP for more than 30 years

A graduate of Lee University, Pastor Darrell Nunley has spent more than three decades leading the congregation at KTOP Church to experience the love of Christ.

Pastor Nunley has deep roots within the local community, including chaplaincy work with South Pittsburg High School’s varsity football program, and he serves as a District Overseer for seven other churches and their pastors. He cherishes his commitment to his wife, Kathie, of more than 40 years, to his adult children, Josh and Heather, his son-in-law & youth pastor, Nick Pickett, along with his four beautiful grandchildren.

Pastor Darrell is respected for his wisdom and practical teaching of scripture. His teaching is filled with storytelling, humor and an ability to share God’s word in a way that appeals to every age group. Listeners often say, “I felt like he was speaking just to me.”

Under his leadership, the congregation has grown steadily and reflects the diversity that makes the community so special. Along with the KTOP congregation, Pastor Nunley places a priority on making the church a place of Hope, Healing, and Wholeness to everyone who attends.

OUR VISION

Know, Grow & Go

We believe that once we as Christ followers begin to “KNOW” God, we live in a blessed hope. That in turn provides healing and security as we “GROW” in Christ. From there we “GO” to tell others the good news that we have found in Christ. As we “Know, Grow and Go,” we experience wholeness from our brokenness and live the abundant life that is only in Christ.

  1. At KTOP CHURCH, we believe that everyone has the opportunity to “Know” God. To know Him is to love Him, to know Him provides a person a new hope, a fresh start and a blessed future in Him.
  2. At KTOP CHURCH, we believe every person is expected to grow. To “grow up” in our relationship with God and others. We are called to grow so that we may live in the fullness and healing presence of Christ. That growth is best achieved within the safe community of other believers, sharing our talents and gifts among our spiritual family.
  3. At KTOP CHURCH, we believe that Jesus is too wonderful to keep to ourselves, therefore we must “GO.” The gospel is good news to everyone. God loves the whole world and wishes all to hear of His plans for them. We share this good news knowing that Jesus is the answer regardless of our past.

WE BELIEVE:

The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
